Community Partners

Here are a few of the organizations we support:

  • American Cancer Society:  BankAnnapolis serves as one of the lead sponsors of the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life," held each year.  Anywhere from 10 to 25 employees participate in the relay, as well as hold several fund raising events leading up to the Relay.  The staff of several of the Bank’s branches has taken on this cause as “their” cause.
  • Anne Arundel Community College Foundation:  A BankAnnapolis board member serves as chairman of the board, and SVP Mitch Krebs has been a board member since 2006. 
  • Anne Arundel Medical Center:  BankAnnapolis has been a sponsor of the AAMC Annual Gala, the major annual fundraising event to support various units within the hospital.  We have supported this fundraiser since 2004.
  • Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County:   BankAnnapolis has donated to the Boys and Girls Club in different capacities since 2004. 
  • CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate):  BankAnnapolis has been the lead corporate sponsor of CASA’s annual golf outing benefiting CASA since 2001.   In addition to monetary sponsorship, approximately 25 to 35 employees volunteer their time, both in advance of and the day of the outing, in support of this event.
    BankAnnapolis’ SVP, Robert E. Kendrick, serves as past president of CASA.
  • Chesapeake Women’s Network:  Since 2004, BankAnnapolis has supported Chesapeake Women’s Network in various capacities.  AVP Carllene Hurd has served as a board member and treasurer of this organization, which gives scholarships to women in need.
  • Foundation for Community Partnerships:  BankAnnapolis was named principal partner by the Foundation in 2006.  Along with a multiyear monetary commitment, BankAnnapolis’ chairman and CEO, Richard M. Lerner, serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
  • Hospice of the Chesapeake:  BankAnnapolis has been a sponsor for Hospice events such as the Annual Gala, the Hospice Cup race and Hospice Golf Tournament for the past several years.   BankAnnapolis’ CEO and chairman Richard M. Lerner serves as Vice Chairman of the Hospice Foundation Board and two of our directors serve on the Hospice boards.  In addition, SVP Carol Kasper serves as director emeritus of the Hospice Foundation Board. Employees also volunteer their time to help Hospice during the fall boat shows.
  • Hospice of Queen Anne County:  Since 2005, BankAnnapolis has served as the lead sponsor of the annual golf outing.  In addition to monetary donations, BankAnnapolis employees volunteer their time both prior to the outing and at the outing. In 2005, BankAnnapolis was also a sponsor of the Hospice Cup for the Hospice of Queen Anne’s County.  AVP Carllene Hurd is the primary contact for Hospice of Queen Anne County.
  • Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department:  In 2006, BankAnnapolis committed to a multiyear donation program for their capital campaign to raise money for their new firehouse as well as various other endeavors.
  • Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts:  BankAnnapolis has been a sponsor of events such as the annual Arts Alive Gala and Mardi Gras Gala for the past several years.
  • Providence Center:  In 2007 BankAnnapolis committed to a multiyear donation program for their Capital Campaign to raise funds to update and expand several of their locations in order to consolidate into fewer locations.  In addition BankAnnapolis has been a sponsor of the Providence Center's golf tournament for many years.
  • Rebuilding Together:  Since 1996, BankAnnapolis has been a Blitz Day corporate sponsor.   In addition to monetary sponsorship, anywhere from 15 to 30 employees volunteer their time on the last Saturday in April to make improvements to a home in our area.   BankAnnapolis has sponsored homes in Annapolis, Edgewater, and Severna Park, to name a few sites.
  • United Way of Queen Anne’s County Maryland:  BankAnnapolis has been a sponsor of several events for the United Way and has also provided monetary donations.  AVP Carllene Hurd has served on the board since 2005 and currently is Treasurer.
  • National Disasters:   BankAnnapolis and its employees have given generously of goods and monetary donations to recent disaster relief efforts such as the Gulf Coast hurricanes and the tsunami.  BankAnnapolis branches also serve as donation drop-off sites for the American Red Cross and other organizations during these disasters.
  • BBJ Most Generous Corporate Givers:  Since 2001, BankAnnapolis has been in the top tier of the Baltimore Business Journal's Annual survey of "Most Generous Corporate Givers in the Baltimore Area,"  based on total giving as a percentage of company revenue.  In addition to being in the top 15, BankAnnapolis has been the top bank listed for four years.
  • BankAnnapolis employees contribute countless hours of volunteer and community service, ranging from 2,000 to 3,500 hours of service each year.
  • In addition to the organizations listed above, other charitable organizations supported by the bank via sponsorship or employee volunteerism include the Annapolis Maritime Museum, Community Center in Severna Park, Salvation ArmyLee National Denim Day, The Light House Shelter and the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, to name a few. 

  • BankAnnapolis Business Development and Branch staffs are actively involved in business and community organizations such as the Annapolis and Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce, Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce, South Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, and the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council.

  • Over the years BankAnnapolis has donated furniture, computer equipment, and cell phones to various organizations such as Hospice, CASA, YMCA, Bates Middle School, and Providence Center.
